NFL Passer Rating
The official NFL formula for evaluating quarterback passing performance, capped at 158.3. Note that this formula is largely considered obsolete by modern analytics departments in favor of EPA/Play, as Passer Rating heavily overvalues completion percentage and ignores sacks.
Assumptions & Math
a = ((CMP/ATT) - 0.3) * 5
b = ((YDS/ATT) - 3) * 0.25
c = (TD/ATT) * 20
d = 2.375 - ((INT/ATT) * 25)
*Each component (a,b,c,d) is capped between 0 and 2.375
